While the students gear up for a month of reading excitement, we invite the adults to celebrate with an evening of cocktails, delicious food, a silent auction, and community connection.
All proceeds from the Sneaker Ball will support Redwood Schools and our mission to empower students with learning differences to reach their full potential.

Join us at Countryside Day for a free Parent Partnership Event presented by Redwood Schools and Dr. David Meyerson and Dr. Lee Wells from Mind Chicago. Together, we’ll explore “What Is and Isn’t ADHD, and Treatment That Works.”
This engaging session will help parents better understand ADHD—what it is, what it isn’t, and how to identify effective treatments and strategies for managing it. Dr. Meyerson and Dr. Wells will share evidence-based insights, practical tips, and answer your questions to support families navigating ADHD.

Trunk or Treat @ Redwood Day!
Trunk or Treat at Redwood Day is a fun-filled event where families come together to celebrate Halloween in a safe, festive environment. Parents and volunteers decorate their car trunks, transforming them into creative trick-or-treat stations, while students in costume enjoy collecting candy and showing off their Halloween spirit. It’s a great way for the Redwood community to come together for an afternoon of fun, creativity, and spooky treats!

Managing Anxiety During Transitions: Practical Tools for Home
Transitions—whether starting a new school year, changing routines, or moving between activities—can trigger anxiety in children, particularly those with learning differences. In this presentation, by Therapist Falyn Mellul, LSW, MSW from Plena Mind Center we will explore the root causes of transition-related anxiety and equip parents with practical strategies to support their children at home.
This session is designed to provide you with the tools to ease your child’s anxiety and create a smoother, more positive transition experience at home.
