ABOUT THIS DYSLEXIA SIMULATION

The purpose of the simulation today is to help individuals who do not have dyslexia gain perspective regarding the frustrations those with dyslexia frequently experience in a classroom setting. However, individuals with dyslexia also often find remarkable workarounds and ways to compensate for their disability. We suspect many of you will find the various simulation tasks frustration, anxiety-provoking, and perhaps at times overwhelming. Throughout the experience today it is also important to recognize that each individual with dyslexia presents differently in terms of how their challenges impact their learning experience and daily functioning. We look forward to hearing about your experience at the end of the simulation.

*The simulations presented today were developed by the International Dyslexia Association of Northern California.
